The Secret Garden: our history and mission

The Secret Garden is a jewellery business located in Basingstoke, England. Milena is the owner of the business, which she runs with passion and dedication. Milena's love and passion for jewellery have their roots in Mexico. In fact, her family used to live in Mexico and in there she discovered the wonderful silversmiths of the city of Taxco. Taxco is indeed considered the home of Mexican silver and a heaven for silver lovers. When her family later moved to the UK, she received a very enthusiastic response for the personal pieces in her home. And that's what gave her the idea of starting her own jewellery business.

The Secret Garden opened in 2001. When Milena originally started the business, she used to sell silver and flowers- hence the name "The Secret Garden". Her unique Mexican pieces soon got a great response. And as a result, she decided to set aside the flowers and focus on the jewellery. Milena has a fine taste and she has always selected unique designs and jewellery that made her business grow and a roaring success.

Today Milena imports jewellery. She mainly imports silver and semi-precious stones from Italy and Mexico, as well as Baltic Amber from Poland. In addition, she also designs her own range, called Milena designer. The Secret Garden is a certified Nikki Lissoni, Trollbeads and Storm Watches retailer.

The Secret Garden is now a family business, and you can both find us online at The Secret Garden website and in our physical shop. If you ever pass by the Basingstoke area we will be happy and enthusiastic to assist you! We love our job and our mission is to make our customers content and satisfied.
