The crafting process of THOMAS SABO jewellery
In the creative process the design team, helped by Thomas Sabo, selected the appropriate metals and stones, motifs, and colors. The design team develops a 3D model and then creates the first wax prototypes. If the subsequent samples in precious metal are suitable and meet the team’s standards, they go into production. Every piece of jewellery is accurately handcrafted, especially the decoration with stones which need the highest concentration and expertise.
The stones are placed in their recesses using a magnifying glass and the finest tools and then metal grains and claws ensure a firm hold. Finally, after setting the stones, the piece of jewellery is polished and given its final shine.
Some jewellery is then dipped into a special solution, repolished for the second time, and immersed in an electroplating bath to finish them with a high-carat gold plating. The product is released only after being tested during a time-consuming quality inspection made in the quality department.
